I also think that how I react to things makes up who I am, but then I think that this also has to do with out pasts, learning from both our and others mistakes/experiences. What works and what doesn’t.

My likes and dislikes. Again, I’m sure there’s nothing out there that ONLY I like or dislike, but it’s the combination that makes me unique.

Other than that who knows…upbringing I suppose, friends, how I see myself.

Definitely need to keep thinking about it (even if I’ve been thinking about it for weeks!)

The first thing is this:

This is my bedroom. I spend so little time there, that when I finally get my own space, filled with my own things that it makes me happy. The fact that I rarely have to get up in time for work there helps too!

Second thing is this:

Those are some of my friends. It used to be the backdrop of my computer, because every time I looked at it it made me happy, surrounded by all those awesome smiles I am truly blessed to have such amazing friends.

But, for the purpose of the exercise, I think I’ll go for my friend Diana. As I’ve said, I’m fascinated with her mind, and her job, and I think it would be cool (although challenging from what she tells me!) to do her job for a day! As long as she did the planning that is

I guess what I really want one day is a family…I know part of this is just hormones and what society considers normal, but I don’t really care! Sometimes I wonder if it really matters if what I want, I only want because thats what society thinks, the fact is I want it, and sometimes the reasons don’t matter. Sometimes…

As for a job, I don’t really know what I want there, I guess I’m lucky enough to not worry too much about money to think that as long as I enjoy what I’m doing then thats great for now.

Travel – I KNOW I want to travel more!

Jellybean – a few people call me this, most notably a friend called Kevin, and my Mum…Probably cos my initials are JB, but also because I get so hyper off them (fun for the whole family :p). Sometimes I think I’m quite like a jellybean – brightly coloured, full of sugar, and tasty :p

Jzh-jzh is one only my sister calls me, mostly because I don’t really like it, so no-one else can get away with it! Taken from the first letter of my first name, and for some reason I associate it with this face twitching thing my sis can do that always cracks me up…

This pic was taken last year by my friend Skyring. We were on our way to Christchurch BC Convention and staying in Hanmer Springs the night. Previously in the week I’d just finished a job working in after school care, and I’d made all these origami frogs with googly eyes for the kids as a goodbye gift, and I had a couple extra, so I brought it with me, figuring I could give it away to *someone* :p Anyway, one of the frogs googly eyes had come off, so I figured, the only thing I could do was to stick it on to my nose….because really, what else would you do with a googly eye!

This is one of my favourite pics of myself, it shows me how I see myself sometimes, extremely silly (and willing to do pretty much anything for a laugh!).

I’ve been seriously, seriously looking forward to this one! So here goes:

1. Lessons In Love, Hope, and Faith, Pt. 2 – Snow Globe World (Sister Hazel)

I think this is the second time I’ve heard this song, and (similar to their previous album, Threeve) it’s taking me a while to get into it. Hopefully one day I’ll be randomly listening to the cd and I’ll finally get it.

2. Have you? – Earworms Musical Brain Trainer – Rapid Dutch Vol. 1

My friend Skyring sent me this CD after he was lucky enough to go to the Amsterdam BC Convention, and I asked him if I could borrow it. I’m half Dutch, and speak a little bit of Dutch, but wanted to learn some more. I’m actually finding this CD really helpful! (I can now say ‘I would like a tea with milk please’ and ‘Do you have a table for two?’, along with a few other phrases!)

3. Mystery – Brooke Fraser

A talented NZ musician, fairly mainstream. I like this song because it reminds me of a swelling ocean, something about the music. Other favourites of mine by her include ‘Indelible’, and the ‘C.S. Lewis Song’.

4. Kea – Graham Wardrop

This is off a CD of natural NZ birdsong played along side lullabies that I bought for Secret Santa last year. It’s really nice because it’s just all these natural sounds that plays continuously. Great to fall asleep to

5. The Lifting (demo) – R.E.M.

Not one of my favourite R.E.M. songs, but still good, nonetheless! I’ve got my Dad to thank for introducing me to R.E.M. Actually I keep thinking how similar my music taste is to his as I get older! There’s a heap of music on my computer that I remember listening to as a kid, or that I know he has now (like Brooke Fraser even!)

6. Dancing Queen – Mamma Mia Soundtrack

Yes, I admit it, I own the soundtrack! I really like it too! Great sing-along music to drive to (which is what I bought it for!), cos everyone knows the words

7. Little Black Heart – Sister Hazel

Yeah, Sister Hazel are definitely my favourite band!

8. Listen To Her Heart – Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

My friend Kirsty lent me the entire TP&TH collection after I told her I had one song by them that I enjoyed. So I then put them all on the computer, figuring I could just edit it later. Well, it still hasn’t happened, and so now I’ve got this HUGE collection of Tom Petty! According to iTunes I’ve listened to this song twice, and, now that I’m actually listening to it, I quite like this song!

9. I Could Not Ask For More – Edwin McCain

My friend Michael sent me some cds of music he thought I’d like a few years ago, and it has seriously influenced my music collection! He’s the one who introduced me to Sister Hazel, but even not including Sister Hazel I’ve discovered a whole lot of amazing artists! Edwin McCain being one of them obviously

And finally! 10. *shame* Don’t Ever Step on a Snake – Don Spencer

I got this from an old job, we played this cd sometimes and I quite like it *embarrassed*. It has a collection of songs about animals from different cultures (it’s from the Putumayo collection if you know who they are). Mostly I have this for comic value Plus Skyring likes it

By no means a picture of my complete family, this is a fairly recent picture of my immediate family. I think this was taken the first time my sis got back from Germany, and we had a family dinner to celebrate both that and her birthday (maybe? Could be wrong), and then went for a walk along the Petone wharf.

I don’t really have a lot of photos of Mum and Dad together, they split up when I was 5, so this is a fairly rare one!

So, on the left we have my (awesome, amazing, beautiful, honest, lovely) Mum. Then we’ve got my (gorgeous, irreplaceable, lovable, talented, warm) sister. And finally, my (giver of good advice, GREAT hugger, handsome, kind, loving) Dad
